Ufuk Barış Mutlu
Visual Artist
Ufuk Barış Mutlu is a multidisciplinary designer and a media artist. Following his high school education in Terakki Foundation Schools, he graduated from İstanbul Bilgi University Visual Communication Department. Since 2015, he has been working on media artworks and installations. On the other side, he is conducting commercial visual communication design projects and brand consultancy services under the roof of his award-winning studio, StudioMutlu. The studio had a variety of clients such as ATÖLYE, Chobani, Reflect Studio, imece, Bozcaada Jazz Festival and Zorlu Holding. His personal and collective works have been displayed on a number of festivals and venues such as Contemporary İstanbul, Corridor Project Space Amsterdam, Mamut Art Project, Philipps-Universität Marburg, Sónar+D, Zorlu Performing Arts Center, whiteBOX München and Fiera Libro Arte Torino. In 2016, he published his first book, “Balta, makas, çekiç”, a design research project on Anatolian hand tools. In 2017, he was selected as a resident artist for the British Council’s AltCity İstanbul. In 2020, he was selected as a guest artist in the Istanbul Biennial Production and Research Program. In 2021, six of his artworks were acquired by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for İstanbul Cinema Museum’s permanent collection. His works are featured on several publications like Design Unlimited, Popular Science and CI Mag. He is a member of Graphic Designers Association.
